The Des Moines Register, 21 January 2003, p. 13: Wayne Paullin, 78, of Winterset died of a heart attack Sunday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset, with burial at Winterset Cemetery. Mr. Paullin had lived in Winterset all of his life. He was a retired truck driver with the state of Iowa Liquor Commission and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 184 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8142. He enjoyed attending auctions and refinishing furniture and antiques. He is survived by a son, Robert of Winterset; a daughter, Judie Hayden of Redfield; two brothers, Gerald of Winterset and Rex of Floral City, Fla.; a sister, Frances Wyatt of Osceola; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June.
