[52491] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine].," 21 December 2022: "Blue Hill - rgaret Anne (Snow) Robertson, 91, passed away on Dec. 11, 2022, at her home in Blue Hill. Peggy was born April 17, 1931, in Blue Hill, the daughter of Charles and Virginia (Allen) Snow. Peggy attended George Stevens Academy and graduated in 1949. Although active in many activities in school, basketball was where she excelled. Many of her teammates continued to be lifelong friends. Basketball continued to be an important part of her life and she went to as many home games as she could up until a few years ago. On Oct. 20, 1956, she married Fernald W. Robertson. They raised two children, Lynne and Barry, in their Greenes Hill home. When her family got old enough to go to school, Peggy started working at George Stevens Academy to help make ends meet. She stayed for 31 years, starting out as librarian, then in the cafeteria. She became famous for the GSA yeast rolls and former students still remark about them. Peggy loved to knit, bird watch, visit the neighbors, photograph nature and tend to her gardens. She kept the men in her life in boot socks for hunting, the kids in mittens and newborns in baby booties. Since Peg had married into a firefighting family, she joined the Blue Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, stepping down as secretary only a few years ago. Peggy had many sayings, but as she got older it was 'Getting old isnt for sissies.' Despite not being able to do what she used to, she dealt with it with a quick wit and a sense of humor that kept us on our toes and in stitches. She set the bar high for growing old with grace and humor. Many thanks to those on 'Team Peggy' for the wonderful caregiving, enabling her to stay in her own home. Much appreciation goes to the Palliative Care and Hospice team for their support. To quote Peggy from her speech at her GSA retirement party, 'Its been a good ride.' She leaves her daughter Lynne Clark and husband, Tim, and her son, Barry. She also leaves '#2 Son' John Herrick, dear friends Joyce Buzzell, Sandy Clapp, Dennis and Dolly Robertson and her feline friend, Lacey. Peggy was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Fern Robertson, in 2010 and #3 Son Davey Williams in 2021."
