[41373] http://www.newenglandballproject.com offers in 2016: "DNA testing of descendants of Benjamin shows that he was a descendant of John Ball and Elizabeth Pierce of Watertown and Lancaster MA. Benjamin was probably the son of John Ball and Sarah Bullard (and grandson of John Ball and Elizabeth Pierce) of Watertown, Massachusetts, but this has not been proven. The only other suggested option for parents would be Eleazer Ball and Priscilla Wood, but Eleazer was the son of Nathaniel Ball of Concord MA and the male descendants of that Nathaniel have markedly different DNA patterns than for descendants of Benjamin, so Eleazer is not a viable candidate. End of comment.1 He was the son of John Ball and Sarah Bullard. Benjamin Ball married Mary Brewer, daughter of John Brewer and Elizabeth Rice, on 29 March 1704 at Framingham, Middlesex Co., MA; "Mary Bruer." Benjamin came to Framingham 1703, leased 44 acres of land lying on both sides of Stoney Brook from Col. Buckminster; he took deed for this land 21 January 1734. He built a house on the south side of the brook, near Bullard's bridge; this was sold 7 March 1751 to Allen Flagg of Worcester."

[54361] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 10 February 1917, p. 16: "Died in Franklin, Feb. 8, Hon. William W. Bragdon, aged 83 years, 3 months and 7 days. Mr. Bragdon had been in poor health for more than year; up to that time his strong mind was as clear as ever and he took great interest in world problems. He had for many years been a leading citizen of Franklin, where he was born and always lived. He served the town many years as selectman, treasurer and school supervisor; his leading occupation was farming; but he was very versatile, he taught school, acted as surveyor, made many legal papers, as deeds, and was constantly sought as an advisor both as to public and private business. He served his representative district in the legislature of 1872, and subsequent to this, served two terns in the Senate from Hancock county - the last term in 1878. He was an able participant in all important questions arising during these terms of service. He married Miss H. Elizabeth Donnell, sixty years ago, and she proved herself to be a most devoted and helpful wife. Three children were born to them, one son died at the age of 22, and a daughter at the age of 18. He is survived by his faithful companion, one son, W. E. Bragdon, and three grandchildren. About 17 years ago he moved into the village where he built a fine residence, in which he has since resided."
