Jairus' dates are from Penobscot VR. Jairus m. Hannah Atkins 23 (?) Sept 1806. Jairus farmed on Lot 60 in the John Peters survey. He became owner of the site of Dunbar's Store at the Rts. 166/199 intersection, which he leased in 1856 to Taylor Wardwell for a store. In 1865 a Jairus Dunbar of Penobscot (Post Office address North Castine) was taxed $1.00 for a carriage valued at $60.00. In 1866, a Jairus was taxed $1.00 for a carriage. She was born in Duck Cove Bucksport, the second child of Flora (Blaisdell) Lysle Saunders. Muriel was a lifelong member of the North Bucksport United Methodist Church where she held many different official seats her favorite being the Communications Director. She loved sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a member of the Floral Grange #158 of North Bucksport. She was past president of the Board of the North Bucksport Foundation. Muriel loved to winter in Florida and spend her summer vacation in PEI. Muriel is survived by her two sons: Donald Arey and wife, Linda, Richard Arey and wife, Judy, grandsons: Edward P Arey and Jeffrey M. Arey; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward K. Arey and second husband, John L. Gray; one grandson, Sean P. Arey; siblings: Basil L. Saunders, Warren J. Saunders, Kenneth L. Saunders and one sister: Joyce A. Weidler."
