Gilead, John Ogle of Kemersville and Tim Ogle of Mansfield; one sister, Mrs. Ozella Burger of Mt. Gilead; two brothers, Lynn of Mansfield and Vernon of Wadsworth; and 19 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lain Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Kernersville."

"The Akron Beacon Journal [Akron, Ohio], 21 April 1971," p. 58: "Evan A. Powell, 73, a mail carrier 38 years, died Tuesday in St. Thomas Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Powell of 1195 Murray av. was born in Athens, O., and came to Akron 53 years ago. He retired from the Post Office branch on North Hill in 1958. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, its 65 Plus Club and Mt. Akra Lodge 680, F&AM. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie E. McMunn, Stow; a son, William E., Akron ; three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Rochel Edgar and Mrs. Mary Dishinger, both of Tucson, Ariz. Services will be at 11 a. m. Friday at the Hennessy funeral home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Thursday. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery."
