He was born in Hartford, Washington, NY as his parents and Uncle Nathan Hills were there by 1790. He married first Mary Burrows. Justin is still in Hartford, NY in 1830 and came to West Almond after 1835. (Washington County Deeds MM:173) in 1835 by Hulda, Justin and his first wife Mary, Ezekiel and his wife Harriet; and Horace and his wife Mary selling the Hartford Washington County farm of Reuben Hills Sr. Justin obtained bounty lands in West Almond, Allegany Co NY where he is buried. Reuben Sr is buried in the Old Baptist Cemetery in Hartford NY. Reuben Jr is buried in Allegany Co, NY near Justin's farm.]-from HILLS Genweb. John Hills]all three sons Reuben, Justin, and Horace came to West Almond by 1840.Huldah and Ezekiel remained in Hartford NY. Mary his first wife died before 1846. He then Married Mrs. Mary Nichols, The Known children of Justin and Mary [Burrows] are Walter,Huldah,John,Burrows,Eliza,Mary A, Levi,and Laura. Almon and Lyman are yet to be proved. Born in Colorado, he was the son of the late Zachary and Eva (Stremski) Opuda. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukranian Catholic Church, Maizeville; Rangers Hose Co., Girardville; and the United Mine Worker's Union. Opuda retired from the Raven Run Colliery. Surviving are his wife, the former Wanda Kuchinsky; a son, John, Girardville; daughters, Evelyn Joswick, Wilmington, Del.; Barbara Sanders, Staten Island, N.Y.; Antoinette Cantlin, Girardville; and Charlotte Hoffman, Cinnaminson, N.J.; a brother, Stephen, who lived with Opuda; sisters, Pauline Seman-chick, Girardville; Anna Piaskowski, Frackville; and Helen Toth, Baltimore; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from the Robert M. McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville, followed by Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Ukranian Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery."
