[52066] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 20 February 2019": "Ellington, Conn. and Franklin - It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you of the passing of our mother, Mary B. Tracy, on Sunday, Feb. 10. She was mercurial, marvelous, maddening and an incredible role model. The daughter of Neil H. and Lenore (Clark) Bunker, Mary was raised in Bar Harbor, where she graduated second in her high school class. When she was 12 she toured the USS Missouri while it was anchored in Frenchman Bay and it was here she met her future husband, Allen. Dates at the roller rink and the beach followed and they were married in 1953 while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. They both attended the University of Maine on the GI Bill, studying hard while raising three children. After she graduated with a degree in education the family moved to Connecticut when Allen took a job with SNETCO. Mary was the chief cook and bottle washer until all the children were in school. Then she began her 30-year career in the Tolland, Conn., school system. She was the librarian in Parker School and Hicks Memorial School and became the first media specialist at the newly built Tolland High School. After retirement, Mary and Allen spent many happy days in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at Donnell Pond in Franklin, at the casinos and following sports, especially the UConn ladies basketball team. She enjoyed the games so much that she and Allen endowed a scholarship for the team. Go Huskies! Mary was predeceased by Allen in 2016. She is survived by her son Christopher of Ellington, Conn., whose compassionate care allowed her to stay in her beloved home of 59 years. She is also survived by her daughter Cheryl and her spouse, Jim Miller, of Bloomfield, Conn., and Venice, Fla., and her daughter Cathy and her spouse, Dianne Waters, of Hancock and Venice, Fla., as well as Allens sister Mary Lou Hodge and her husband, Chuck, of Ellsworth and their family."

[6179] John was heir of his father of Rotherfield, Oxfordshire. He and Margaret also had Joane (b. ca 1300, m. Sir Richard Willoughby). See Burke's "Dormant & Extinct Peerages," p. 247. Find A Grave Memorial 147339260 offers: "Sir Robert de Grey's son, John de Grey (1271-1312), was summoned to Parliament as first Baron Grey of Rotherfield on 26th January 1297. He took part in the Scottish wars under Longshanks and fought in the glorious victory at Falkirk in 1298 against William Wallace, when a large part of Edward's troops refused to fight. He was back in Scotland again in 1306 after the rebellion and enthronement of Robert Bruce. He died in 1312 having married Margaret, daughter of William de Odingsells of Maxstoke, Warwickshire and was succeeded by his son, John de Grey, second Baron Grey of Rotherfield (1300-1359). John de Grey was probably the most famous of the de Greys of Rotherfield. He was a professional soldier who: 'Received livery of his lands in the fifteenth year of the reign of Edward the second after the conquest'."

[54351] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 26 July 2023: "Belfast - Brent Hilton Soper, 76, of Belfast passed away on July 17, 2023. Brent was born in Castine, Maine, on September 17, 1946, to Richard and Frances Soper. He spent most of his life in East Orland, where he met Brenda Lally, the love of his life. Brent and Brenda were married on September 30, 1967, and built a beautiful life over their 36 years together. With Brenda, Brent had two daughters that he loved. Above all the accomplishments in his life, Brent was most proud of being a father to his daughters. He included them in all he did. Bridget and Melissa never missed out on a trip to camp on Lead Mountain, family vacations, or a ride in his Cadillac Eldorado. Brent found companionship with Susan Dupler after Brenda passed. They had many great adventures during their time together. Susan supported and loved him over the last 15 years. Brent served proudly in the United States Naval Construction Battalions (Seabees). Upon coming home from the Navy, he worked in the Bucksport paper mill, where he finished his career as a foreman on the No. 1 and 2 paper machines. Brent retired after 35 years of service, and never forgot the men and women who worked on his crews. Brent was a lifelong learner. To know him was to know of his many bookcases, stacks of magazines, movies, guides, maps, and more. He was often heard saying, 'learn as much as you can. It's the only thing that can never be taken away from you.' He lived his creed; there seemed to be nothing that he didn't know at least a little about, and there was much that he seemed to know everything about. One of the many things he seemed to know everything about was guns. Brent and his father owned the Powder Horn, a shop where he and his friends would fix, build, and study firearms. He spent his life learning history, and he loved nothing more than to tell you about the background on the current gun he was working on. He didn't just collect guns; Brent was an accomplished sportsman who enjoyed shooting sports and hunting. He continued to shoot almost perfect rounds of skeet, every time, until the end. He will be fondly remembered for outshooting his family and friends on the range. Brent was known for his positivity and kindness above all else. He loved his family and friends and was always available to them for a helping hand or word of advice. The first thing he would ask when he saw you was how you were, how your family was, or ask a question about something happening in your life. When you spoke, he listened and remembered. As much as he was available for a word of encouragement, he was also available for a good laugh. Brent had a razor-sharp wit. Brent leaves behind his daughters, Bridget Rickard and Melissa Upton, and their husbands, Corey and Basil, respectively. He also leaves behind his partner, Susan Dupler; and grandchildren, Brent Upton and wife, Katie, Bryan Rickard and wife, Jessica, and Kate Upton; and his great-grandchildren, Arianna and Elijah Upton, and Rhett and Kane Rickard. Beyond his immediate family, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends whom he loved deeply. Brent was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Soper; parents, Richard and Frances Soper; and brother, Dr. Richard Soper Jr."
