"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 6 June 1901, p. 8: "Mrs. Lucy Wardwell Passes Away in 94th Year Fishing at Greene Lake. (From Our Regular Correspondent.) Ellsworth; June 5 - Mrs. Lucy Stetson Wardwell, widow of William Riedhead Wardwell, died Sunday at her home in North Bluehlll, In her 94th year. Mrs. Wardwell was born in Bluehill, a daughter of Samuel and Phebe Wardwell and is the last of a family of five. She was educated at the common schools of the place and at the age of 17 graduated from the Bluehill Academy, when she commenced teaching in Kennebec county. One of her first schools was in Augusta where she had as pupils some of the best known men of the State. She was married when 23 years old, and went to North Bluehill, the house in which her married life was spent, and she died. Of a family of nine children, four are living. One son, William, having died in Lewiston, Idaho, where he went in the forties. C. E. Wardwell, another son, died in Bay City, Mich. Two other sons died at home, and the only daughter, Mrs. Belle Keys, died in East Boston, Mass. The other sons, X. F. Wardwell of Berlin, N. H., Ferdinand Wardwell and Joseph Wardwell of Ellsworth and Henry, the youngest son, with whom she lived, were with her at the time of her death. Her husband passed away 23 years ago. Funeral services were held at the late home Tuesday afternoon. Rev. E. Bean of the Congregational church conducting the same. The flags were at half mast during the Bervice and village schools closed. The floral offerings included many beautiful pieces from relatives and friends of the deceased. The interment was made at Seaside cemetery, Bluehill, in the family lot."

[41054] "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 23 August 1998," p. 7: "Shelby - Donald E. Weidner, 90, formerly of 98 N. Gamble St., died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, in Crestwood Care Center. Born March 3, 1908 in Mansfield to William and Linda (Markley) Weidner had been a Shelby resident since 1941. Mr. Weidner was employed as a union painter in the Richland County area, was a past member of the Mansfield Eagles, V.F.W. Post #291 of Shelby and had served with the U.S. National Guard from 1929 to 1940. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Catheryn Ernsberger of Clearwater, Florida; eight grandchildren including, Rita Eldridge and Dan Ernsberger both of Shelby; 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by bis wife, Faye S. Weidner on Feb. 9, 1995, one step daughter, Evelyn Poppa in 1981, tvo brothers Milton and Sherman Weidner and one sister Eunice Geirspeck."
