He was in ill health the last several years. Mr. Geist was born in Rebuck, April 12, 1907, son of Wilson and Helen (Koppenhaver) Geist. He was a well known general merchant in business for 29 years in Leck Kill. Mr. Geist was a member of Christ Church, United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, and he served on the consistory board for many years. Mr. Geist was a member of the Eureka Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; Shamokin Loyal Order of Moose and Klingerstown Fire Company. Survivors include the widow, the former Mary Reitz; one son, Paul, Leck Kill; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Hoy, Millersburg R.D.; two brothers, Earl, Dornsife; Lester, Rebuck; one sister, Mrs. Verdie Mattern, Pitman; three grandchildren." Russell r. Upper Mahanoy Twp., Northumberland Co., PA at the time of the 1940 federal census.
