"Medford Mail Tribune [Medford, Oregon], 20 June 1952," p. 11: "Funeral services for Hubert Clarence Blackwell, Central Point, who was killed near Cave Junction in a logging accident Wednesday, will be held at Perl funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. The deceased, who was born at Lynn, Ark., on Sept. 13, 1914, had been a resident of southern Oregon for the past four years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Winnie, Central Point; four stepchildren, Randy, LaVaughn, Barbara and Jeanette, all of Central Point; his father, I. F. Blackwell, Batesville, Ark.; his mother, Mrs. James Queen, Toledo, O.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Nelson, Baltimore, Md and a brother, Eugene, Elk River, Ida."
