He was a member of State Line United Methodist Church, State Line; Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 Veterans of Foreign Wars; Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion, St. Thomas; and the National division of the American Association of Retired Persons. Mr. Widney was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the retired owner of Johnnie's Restaurant, Chambersburg. Surviving are his wife, Daisy E. Blair Widney; a daughter, Debra Benchoff of Waynesboro; a stepdaughter, Lorraine Mellott of Chambersburg; two stepsons, Joe Finafrock of Fresno, Calif., and Ronald Finafrock, Greencastle; two sisters, Hazel Monninger of Chambersburg and Gladys Henderson of Malibu Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; 10 stepgrand-children; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. The Rev. Edward Cope will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg."
