[46209] "The Sentinel [Carlisle, Pennsylvania]," 19 July 1915, p. 8: "John W. Kistler, an industrious and respected citizen residing at 505 West Louther Street, died at ten-thirty Sunday night after four weeks illness of a complication of diseases, aged 51 years. The family moved here from West Pennsboro township about two years ago. Mr. Kistler was a concrete worker but for many years was a farmer. He is survived by his wife and the following children, Elizabeth, of Camden, N.J.; Mrs. W. C. Burgett, Carlisle; Homer, of near town, and Nettie and William at home. Also by his, mother, Mrs. Lydia Kistler, of of Mechanicsburg, and by the following brothers and sisters, David, of Loysville; Austin, of Mechanicsburg; Chas. of Odebolt, Iowa; Mrs. Austin Kitner, of Carlisle, and Mrs. W. M. Blosser and Mrs. Arthur Barnes, of Carlisle. His funeral will take place at ten o' clock Thursday morning, interment at Kutz's church."
[55000] Lyle's obituary: "Lyle Masterson Koons, Sr., 90, formerly of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home in Millsboro, Delaware. He was born January 13, 1928, in Reinerton, PA, to the late Charles E. and Ella (Masterson) Koons. He is survived by his wife LaMay Machamer Koons whom he was married on September 7, 1948. Also surviving are children Lyle Koons Jr. and wife Michelle; Lynn Reinhold and husband Samuel; Lonny Koons and wife Kathy; Charles Koons and wife Dory; Lance Koons; Lorne Koons and wife Michelle, as well as grandchildren: Jeanette Woodley, Ashley Snyder, Samuel Reinhold III, Michelle Mutchler, Glenn Koons, Kaleb Koons, Kyler Koons, Autumn Koons and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Dorry Koons, grandson Mark Koons, sisters Jane and Sonya and brother Gerald. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for 33 years before retiring in 1982. He was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy volunteering and serving 2 tours on the Navy Destroyer Isbell in the Pacific Theater with duties from Philadelphia, San Diego to the Sea of Japan. Lyle was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing soccer, chess and penny poker with his children, grandchildren, relatives and friends."
