[3041] "Falaise Roll" (Baltimore: Gen. Pub. Co., 1994), p. 93: "After the death of count Robert, his son William demanded of king Henry I, besides his own inheritance, the earldom of Kent, which had belonged to his deceased uncle, bishop Odo. On being refused the request, he started a revolt in Normandy, was captured at the battle of Tenchebrai, thrown into prison, had his eyes put out and died there. ...his name occurs three times on the Bayeux tapestry." See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giselbert_of_Loon which offers: "It is not documented when Giselbert started his rule. He was count until his death, sometime before 18 May 1046. Giselbert took the initiative to build a castle in Borgloon, the original center of the county. The castle was a motte-and-bailey, with a hall and a chapel in the front court. This front court forms the core of the later town of Borgloon. The castle itself was destroyed and the hill on which it stood was excavated in the 19th century.
Giselbert was a son of either Count Rudolf, Count of Betuwe, or Otto, Count of Looz. Giselbert's brother Arnold succeeded Rudolf as Count of Haspinga. When Haspinga was donated to the Prince-bishopric of Liège, Loon, itself a fief of Haspinga, became a fief of Liege. It is likely that Giselbert and Arnold's brother Balderik, who was Prince-Bishop of Liège from 1008 to 1018, played a role in the donation of Haspinga to Liege. At the end of his life, Giselbert was a guardian of the goods of the Saint-Jacobs-Abbey Liege, founded by his brother Balderik. Giselbert was succeeded by his son Emmo and possibly Otto, who ruled the county together."

[22085] http://www.guide2womenleaders.com offers: "Daughter of Juan I, king of Aragón, she was initially called Violenta. Her father was succeeded by Martin as king of Aragón. Her marriage to Louis II of Anjou in 1400, who spent much of his life fighting in Italy for his claim to the kingdom of Napoli. She was appointed guardian of her son-in-law the Dauphin Charles who became Charles VII in 1422, but his title was still challenged by the English and their Burgundian allies. In this struggle, Yolande manoeuvred to have the duke of Bretagne break from an alliance with the English, and was responsible for the Breton soldier, Arthur de Richemont, becoming the constable of France in 1425. Yolande's early and strong support of Jeanne d'Arc, when others had reasonable doubts, suggests the Duchess' possible larger role in the orchestrating the Maid's appearance on the scene. Her younger daughter, Yolanda, was married to the heir of Bretagne, her youngest son René inherited Lorraine in 1431 and after her older son's Louis III's death, and three years later he also became duke of Anjou and heir of Sicily."
