He was born in Shelby on March 27, 1944. He was a 1962 graduate of Plymouth High School and a 1967 Ohio Northern University graduate. He was employed as a registered pharmacist working as a supervisor for Rite-Aid Pharmacy, Sandusky, for six years and the Medicine Shoppe on Hayes Avenue, and was currently employed by Metro Health Clement Center in Cleveland. Mr. Bushey was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1967-74. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Sandusky, was a former board member of the American Cancer Society, a life member of Sandusky Jaycees where he served as the Exhausted Rooster, member of Sandusky Eagles Aerie 444 and a past member of American Legion Post 83. He is survived by his wife, Ann Byers Bushey, whom he married on Nov. 6, 1971; two sons, Robert D. Bushey Jr. and Jeffery D. Bushey, both at home, his father, Robert D. Bushey of Shiloh; two brothers, Philip Bushey of East Canton and Kent Bushey of Shelby; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Arnold Bushey, in 1989. Calling hours will be held today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. by the Rev. Paul Stengel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh."

She was the widow Steve Ace Pregrim, who died Dec. 8, 1993. Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Peckville, daughter of the late Max and Olga Maciejowsky Rayannic, she was raised on the family farm in Meshoppen and attended area schools. Before retiring in 1986, she worked for many years in the housekeeping department of the Old Forge School District. She was a member of St. Michaels Russian Orthodox Church, Old Forge. Every year, she enjoyed planting a garden, especially flowers, and spring was her favorite time of year. During the summer months, she and her husband would go to picnics to listen to polka music and dance. Surviving are a son, Stephen, Old Forge; a daughter, Debra Konnick, Falls; two brothers, Walter, Lake Winola, and Michael, Meshoppen; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Nicholas, Steven and Marshall; and two sisters, Pauline and Mary Tomaskevitch. The funeral will be Monday at 8.45 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, with services at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michaels Russian Orthodox Church, 512 Summer St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. David Mahaffey, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery."

Born September 12, 1900, in Smethport, he was a son of James and Minta Airgood Shields. Married to Mabel Bishop who survives, he was a member the Salvation Army in New Castle. He was a former resident of Punxsutawney and had been in New Castle for the past 14 years. Survivors include his widow, mentioned above; eight daughters and four sons: Mrs. Allen Peace, Mrs. Wallace Jones, Paul Murphy, Miss Winifred Shields, and Ernest Shields, all of New Castle; Mrs. Earl Altoona; Mrs. Walter Burkhouse, Lowellville, 0.; Mr. Ralph Blair, Campbell, O.; Mrs. Erma Rossi, Ebensburg; Donald and George of Meridian, Conn.; A1C Wilbur Shields in Texas; two brothers: John Shields, Indiana and Norris Shields, Jamestown, N.Y.; two sisters: Mrs. Allen Duff, Fla.; and Mrs. Bertha Lydic, Smethport; and 23 grandchildren."
