He was a member of the New Bloomfield Reformed Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. May Horting Arnold; five daughters, Mrs. Homer Gabel, Mrs. Guy Shope, Mrs. Ralph Shontz, Mrs. George McAllister and Mrs. George Pursell; four sons, John, George, Lenus and Benjamin; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gessner and Mrs. Catherine Kinser; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."
