During his lifetime his collection was exhibited at the Juniata County Fair. His autobiographical booklet "During Sixty-Eight Years" is in the biography section of the Susquehanna Conference Archives of the United Methodist Church at Lycoming College.

Whitcomb in Chester, Vermont, June 29, 1849, and was graduated from Grinnell college, Grinnell, Iowa, in the class of 1869. She married Rev. Morris H. Robbins July 2, 1874, and came to Eugene with her husband in 1910. The couple lived in College Crest. Mr. Robbins died February 15, 1934. Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Congregational church of Grinnell, Iowa, and is survived by several cousins in the East. The body will be shipped to the Portland crematorium by Veatch chapel."
