He had four sons and three daughters with Jennie Mary Hubler. He died on April 9, 1942, at the age of 63." "Mount Carmel Item, 24 July 1914," p. 1: "George R. Carmitchell, inside foreman of the Tunnel Ridge colliery, a Reading company operation near Mahanoy City, had the distinction of receiving by mail a certificate or diploma from a mining college guaranteeing his proficiency in every branch of study embraced in the mining courses of the said university. Mr. Carmitchell's course covered a period of 14 years' study during his spare moments since he attained the age of 21 years." Find A Grave memorial 94759319 assigns John Carmitchell (1869-1926) as husband to Jennie Hubler and lists these children: Raymond Carmitchell (1896-1897), Fred Carmitchell (1900-1903) & Quenton Carmitchell (1906-1906).
