Mrs. Shaw was born Oct. 3, 1899, Washburn, Maine, and lived in South Bend for a year In Washburn as Mildred Alice Belmain. She married Ross Shaw, who died in 19?0. She is survived by a daugher, Avis Glidden of San Diego; three sons, Douglas and Blynn, both of South Bend, and Solon of Norwich, Conn.; and 102 grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren. [1087] Andrew came to Limington from Gorham in 1786 and settled on lot 9, range M at Emery's Corner, at the foot of Sawyer's Mountain. His brother Nicholas was b. 4 April 1758 at Falmouth and d. 25 June 1782 at Limerick, Maine; Nicholas had ten children. His brother Nathan was b. 3 March 1767 at Falmouth and d. 29 Jan 1849 at Cornish; Nathan had thirteen children. Andrew had ten children, of whom Dorcas was eldest. See "History of Gorham, Maine," Hugh D. McLellan (Katharine B. Lewis, editor; Portland: Smith & Sale, 1903), p. 438, which reports: "Andrew, b. Feb. 7, 1764, m. Betsey Irish, p. Dec. 14, 1782; 2d. Mrs. Mary (Cobb) Bangs" and p. 439 which reports: "Andrew Cobb, son of Andrew, married Betsey, daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Doane) Irish. He lived for some years in Gorham, but moved to Limington before 1787. Children, born in Gorham, were: Dorcas, b. June 13, 1783, m. Samuel Dunn of Cornish; Samuel, b. 1785, m. Ellen Neele; Stephen, Levi, Andrew, Ebenezer, Dorothy and Desire were born in Limington. Mr. Cobb married, Dec. 10, 1808, Mrs. Mary (Cobb) Bangs, daughter of Jedediah Cobb, and widow of Ebenezer Bangs." He had four brothers and three sisters. He died in 1985 at the age of 75." John never married; he r. Scranton, PA. He is age 10 in the 1920 census. He is the John J. Hudak (b. 23 June 1909, d. 7 April 1985) buried in the St. John's Cemetery, Scranton, Lackawanna Co., PA with the grave marker inscription "JOHN J HUDAK. SGT US ARMY, WORLD WAR II".
[41180] The 1860 federal census in Middle Paxton Twp., Dauphin Co., PA lists John (age 70, b. in PA), Elizabeth (64, b. in PA, his wife) and Amrbose Kennedy (25, b. iin PA). This family is also in the 1850 federal census in the same location. {It is interesting that a John Kennedy, age 33, arrived in Philadelphia, PA 22 July 1822 from Liverpool, England, son of Harry Kennedy of 101 Glasgow St., Dumbarton, Scotland; this John arrived sponsored by his sister, Mrs. Kate Doherty, spouse of John Doherty, 3403 Crystal St., Philadelphia, PA.}

[931] Joseph served in King Philip's War, probably under Capt. Joseph Sill, 24 August 1676. His sister, Mary, is ancestor of George Bush, United States President. A Hannah Adams was "associated with" Joseph in Jan, 1678, and with him had a daughter, Hannah Mayo, b. 12 Oct 1678 in Newbury - Hannah Adams was step-sister of Sarah Short (Joseph's wife) and in 1708 m. Joseph Lunt (see "The Essex Antiquarian", vol.2, #2, Feb. 1898:18).
