Gray, 74, occurred Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Donald Sproul, on Stillwater avenue after a brief illness. A native of Deer Isle, Mr. Gray moved when a young man to Castine where he followed the sea for many years. He later moved to Brewer where for 20 years he was chief engineer of the E. H. Blake yacht, and afterward was employed as a mechanic on the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad for 20 years until his retirement about two years ago. After his retirement he bought a farm in Lagrange, where he had since made his home. He is survived by his wife, Grace L. Gray of Lagrange; four daughters, Mrs. Victor Vereault of Brewer, Mrs. James Griffiths of Bar Harbor, Mrs. Donald Sproul of Bangor and Miss Ethel Gray of Lagrange; a brother, Augustus Gray, and a sister, Mrs. Lottie Banks, both of Hartford, Conn,; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren."
