[45428] See Pedigree Resource File DM4-PZN which states Louis is son of August Knofler & Mary Boerngen and offers: "Louis moved to Akron, Ohio when about 20 years old to accept a position with the Hall Dry Goods Co. Later he was employed by the A. Polsky Co. and the Dague Bros. Co. When the Dague Bros. sold out to the C. H. Yeager Co., Louis went into business for himself, operating Knofler's Ladies Ready-to-wear store on South Main Street, Akron, Ohio. Louis was named 'Gonkey' by his grandson Richard at an early age. When Louis retired, he spent his time repairing furniture and generally fixing things."
