He served as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1428 to 1430, was summoned to Parliament by writ as "Johanni de Sutton de Duddeley militi" from 15 Feb 1440 to sept 1485, served in the wars in France, was made Knight of the Garter by 23 April 1459, was Constable of the Tower of London in 1473.... He and Elizabeth married after 1422. From his younger son John Dudley of Atherington, Sussex, descend the earls of Warwick and of Leicester of the Dudley family. John is the 1st Baron Dudley. Cf. Her proudest accomplishment was opening Hodgdon's Seafood, which she and John ran for 20-plus years, making many lifelong friends out of customers. Her favorite times were spent with family, her children, her grandchildren and her brothers. Jackie is survived by her brother, John E.
