Also called Ashot II 'the Iron' of Armenia. He was born circa 873. He was the son of Smbat I 'the Martyr', King of Armenia. He was crowned by Adarnase, King of Iberia, in 914. He married _____ Sewaday, daughter of Sahak Sewaday, Prince of Gardman, in 917. He attacked by his own brother, Abas, and his brother's father-in-law in 918. He was recognized as King of Kings following Yusuf's imprisonment by the Caliph in 919. King of Armenia in Transcaucasia between 921 and 929. He had the title shahanshah ('king of kings'), conferred on him and his successors by the caliph in 922. He ruled the Armenians after his father at the order of emperor Romanus for eight years (This was seven years after the murder of his father.). Edison, died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday at the Carlyle Nursing Home after a one-week illness. She was retired from the former Childrens Aid Society (now the Family and Children Center). She was born on April 8, 1895, in St. Joseph County, where she lived all her life. On Feb. 14, 1914. in South Bend, she married Clarence G. Milliken, who died in 1963. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Snowden of South Bend; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Verna Chase of South Bend and Mrs. Ruby Mabry of Crystal River, Fla., and a brother, James Arthur Geist of Granger. Services were to be at 2 p.m. today at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, with D. Hopkins officiating Burial was to be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Mrs. Milliken was a member of the Northern Indiana Center of the Blind and the Gleaners Sewing Circle."
