Joseph married Mary (Molly) Macomber on 30 Jul 1774. Mary was born in 1749 in Taunton, MA. Joseph served on the Continental Line of MA in 1776 during the Rev. War. He may have named his son after Col. Freeman. Joseph died on 21 Sep 1793 at age 50 and Molly died 26 Sep 1794. Their son Freeman was orphaned when he was only 3. Freeman remained in Massachusetts until his military service in 1814 in Maine, and when he married in 1815 in Maine."

John1 ) was born ca. 1630. He married Hannah Lecraft Jan. 1, 1650/51 in Eastham, MA.He died in 1706 in Eastham. His estate was probated Nov. 4, 1706 in Eastham.Hannah Lecraft was born after 1636. Her surname has also been spelled as Reycraft. She was of Yarmouth, MA. She died after 1702, as she is mentioned in her husband's will prepared in 1702. Her parentage is not known. Lt. John Mayo was said to have come to Eastham in 1644 and lived out his life there. He was appointed surveyor of highways on June 3, 1656. He was appointed on Nov. 14, 1676 to oversee the will of Nicholas Snow. He undoubtedly made frequent trips to Boston as he receipted at various times for the regular payments which the Second Church at Boston made to his father between the time the Rev. John Mayo gave up his ministry there in 1673 until his death in 1676. Lt. John Mayo took part in the Colonial Wars and fought at the Great Swamp Fight in the King Phillip's War, under the command of Capt. Samuel Moseley, probably riding his father's horse which was killed. 3. Jeremiah Mayo4 (Daniel3, John2, Rev. John1): was born ca. 1700, based on grave stone record " in his 65th year ". He married Elizabeth Mulford on June 17, 1725 in Truro, MA. He died Nov. 9, 1765 in Wellfleet, MA. He is buried in Duck Creek Cemetery. He was elected Treasurer of the North Eastham Precinct (now Wellfleet) in 1729, 1730, and 1739. He was elected Assessor 1736-38, 1746, 1750, and 1753. Elizabeth Mulford was born June 30, 1701 in Eastham, MA., d/o Thomas Mulford2 (Thomas1) and Mary Bassett. She died June 14, 1761 in Wellfleet, MA. at age 59. The grave stone record said " aged almost 60 years ". The brothers Daniel and Jeremiah Mayo married sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Mulford. Known children of Jeremiah Mayo4 and Elizabeth Mulford, all born in Eastham, MA., were:
