[22942] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~pmcbride/james/f020.htm#T62 [not verified] offers: "Giles de Badlesmere, his heir, 2n^!baron, not withstanding his father's fate, found such favor from the king, that he had a speciic precept to the keeper of the wardrobe, in the Tower, to deliver to him all his father's harneys, as well coat-armours as others. He doing homage in the 7th year of King Edward III., although not then at majority, had livery of his lands, and the next year attended the king in an expedition into Scotland, in which service he was engaged the three ensuing years. He was summoned to parliament from January 22, 1336, to August 18, 1337. He married Elizabeth Montacute, daughter of William de Montacute, Earl of Salisbury; but d.s.p., in 1338, the barony of Badlesemere fell into abeyance between his sisters and co-heiresses, and it so continues among their descendants and representatives. The Barony of Badlesmere was assumed, without any legal right by the deceased lord's eldest sister, Mauud Countess of Oxford, and the earl her husband, and was retained in that family until the demise of John de Vere, 14th earl, without male issue, in the reign of King Henry VIII., when it was certified, April 5, 1626, to have fallen into abeyance between that nobleman's four sisters." [53151] "Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 15 July 2010: "Argyle Twp. - Howard Wesley Hatch, 73, my husband, the love of my life and my best friend of 42 years, died July 13, 2010, from a heart condition that he had dealt with for 25 years. He was born Dec. 18, 1936, in Argyle, the son of Maurice and Marion (Bowley) Hatch. How does his family describe the loss of a man who encouraged his wife to do whatever she wanted and a son who was given all the love and support to become the man that he did? We will miss his optimism about facing each day with a promise of a better tomorrow. How we will miss his calming demeanor when everything seems to be falling apart, especially on those snowy nights when equipment failure was a given. We will miss those evening conversations over a cup of coffee and just the joy in being in each other's company. He served in the U.S. Army and a tour of duty in Germany during the build up of the Berlin Wall in 1962. He worked at the U.S. Air Force Refueling Station, Argyle, for more than 30 years. He plowed the roads in Argyle until he could no longer breathe, and only then did he feel it was time to give it up. He cut and hauled pulp wood in his early years before changing over to a small gravel business. He also served as the town fire warden for more than 20 years. Howard is survived by his wife, Donna (Amero) Hatch; and his only child, Wesley Howard Hatch and his wife, Melisa (Sanborn) Hatch, and their son, Howard's only grandchild, Colby Wesley Hatch, of Argyle. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (Hatch) Jordan of Argyle; brother-in-law, Howard White of Alton; father-in-law, Alton Amero of Alton; sister-in-law, Joyce (Amero) Smith and her husband, Ralph, of Jonesport; sister-in-law, Jane (Amero) Albert and her husband, Gary, of Bridgeton, N.J.; brother-in-law, Greg Amero and his wife, Ann, of Argyle; his best friend, Richard Seger of Milford; many nieces and nephews, who marveled at his courage and endurance. Howard was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Madeline (Hatch) White; nephew, Ronald Jordan; mother-in-law, Waneta Amero; sister-in-law, Majel (Amero) Lanham; and his childhood buddy, William 'Billy' Murray."
