Aaner de Toteneis and had William (1st Baron of Gwentland); this William m. Bertha, dau. of Miles FitzWalter and his wife Sibyl de Neufmarche (ggranddau. of Griffith I, Prince of North Wales). William de Braose was Lord of Gower and Brecknock, and suffered confiscation of his lands in 1208 and died in exile. {His second son, Giles, obtained his Welsh lands during the war between King John and the nobles. - see "English Baronies," I.
