She was born in Oakland, April 12, 1915, the daughter of David and Nellie (Clark) Ellis. She and her husband owned and operated Lawn Dale Boarding Home on Oak Street in Ellsworth for over 40 years. She is survived by a son, David Grindle of Ellsworth; two cousins, Lela J. McDougall of Waterville and Carla Bagley of South Portland.
Leone will be remembered warmly by many friends including Louise and Rena Richardson of Ellsworth, Helen Maddocks of Ellsworth Falls, Eleanor Webber of Ellsworth and a dear friend who was also a cousin of Frederick, Teena Grey of Orland, who shared many meals and picnics as "family."
