(2) 22 Aug 1816 in Linton Twp., Coshocton Co., OH to Sarah Black (b. 2 June 1792 in Followfield, Washington Co., PA, d. 20 Dec 1876 in Ostego, Muskingum Co., OH) - and that Israel may have been born in Gray, ME - and that Israel is son of Hilton Decatur Buker (b. 1736 in England, d. 11 Dec 1757 in Gray, ME, son of Decatur Buker [b. ca. 1690]). http://www.findagrave.com offers "Israel BUKER was a Patriot of the Revolutionary War, joining at the age of 19, achieving the rank of Sergeant Major, and serving under the Generals Lafayette, Lee and Gates. He accompanied General George Washington to Valley Forge and survived the winter there. He served 8 years and was discharged in 1783. In 1808 he emigrated to Coshocton Co OHIO to claim his 'Bounty Lands' and was followed there by sons Alpha Elisha and Caleb. He died at age 92; was a farmer and taught school for 40 years. The Greys of Ruthyn were the chief Marcher barons in the northern region of the Welsh Marches.
Ida married Sir John Cockayne, Chief Baron of the Exchequer by whom she had six children. Through her eldest daughter Elizabeth, she was an ancestress of Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, and Catherine Howard, queens consort of King Henry VIII of England.
"Ida was born at Ruthin Castle in Ruthin, Denbighshire, Wales in 1368, the youngest daughter of Reginald Grey, 2nd Baron Grey of Ruthyn and Eleanor Le Strange of Blackmere (1337- 20 April 1396). She had four siblings including Reginald Grey, 3rd Baron Grey de Ruthyn, the implacable enemy of Owen Glendower. It was her brother's land dispute with Glendower which caused the latter to launch his rebellion against King Henry IV of England and take Reginald prisoner, keeping him in confinement until he was ransomed by the king for the sum of 10,000 marks.
"Her paternal grandparents were Sir Roger Grey, 1st Baron Grey de Ruthyn and Elizabeth de Hastings. Her maternal grandparents were John Le Strange, 2nd Baron Strange of Blackmere, and Ankaret Le Botiller, daughter of Sir William Le Botiller and Ela de Herdeburgh. Ankaret was a direct descendant of Welsh Prince Gruffydd II ap Madog, Lord of Dinas Bran and his wife, Emma de Audley."
NEHGR 100:107 reports Ida "m. John Cokayne, d. 22 May 1429" and provides a line of descent to John Stratton (b. 1581) whose widow Anne emigrated to New England with their three surviving children. Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ida_de_Grey which reports "Ida's husband Sir John died in 1427 and was succeeded by their eldest son Sir Reginald. Ida died on 1 June 1426 and was buried in St. John's Church, Cockayne Hatley. There are many fine effigies of the Cockayne family which can be seen in the church at Cockayne Hatley."
