Eleanor signed a will on 26 Oct 1808 in Greene Co., TN: Eleanor, as a widow, signs her estate over to her son, John. Michael Bright and Barnett Crabtree are his securities. The estate includes: 2 beds, 1 dutch oven, 1 kettle, 2 pails, 2 horses, ducks, 5 acres of corn in the field. An estate sale as conducted on 18 Nov 1808. Those who purchased items were; John Maltsberger, Eleanor Maltsberger, John Olinger, Nicholas Long and Francis Hughs, William Chandley, James Shannon, Phillip Taylor, David Good, Viney Morgan and John McNeal. She died aft 26 Oct 1808 and bef 18 Nov 1808 in Greene Co., TN. She emigrated from from Reading, Berks Co. PA to Greene Co., TN by way of the Shenandoah Valley of VA."

To this union were born four children, Maxine Heim, of Dubuque, Judy (Harold) Bailey, of Charles City, William (Nancy) Ritzman, of Charles City and Lois (Henry) Rover of Nora Springs.Harold served in the Army three years in Pacific Area during World War II and upon his return from service, farmed near Dumont He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on April 24, 1998; and one sister, Verla Penticoff.He is survived by his four children; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Vern Jr. of Hampton; two sisters, Marlis Nielson, of Waverly, and Audrey Stemmerman, of Allison."
