Dewalt was born on November 25, 1880, in Stark County, Ohio, his father, Nathaniel, was 29 and his mother, Ida, was 22. He married Lily E Ritzman on February 13, 1902. They had four children in 10 years." "The Akron Beacon Journal, 8 February 1953," p. 49: "Services for Dennis DeWalt, 72 of RD 12, Akron, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hopkins Funeral Home with Oscar Waltzer officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Uniontown. Fnends may call at the funeral home after 2 p. m. today. Mr. DeWalt died Friday in Apple Creek State Hospital after an illness of two years. He leaves his wife, Lillie, four sons, Richard, Arthur and Howard, A., all of Akron, and Glenn, of Miami Fla., seven grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Wise, of Milheim."
