He was born Nov. 20, 1875 here, the son of John and Jennie (Parrott) Blaisdell. He attended local schools and graduated from the University 0f Maine Law School. He had practiced law in Maine for the past 60 years and was the senior member of the Blaisdell and Blaisdell law firm in Ellsworth. He served as Hancock County Attorney for several years and as selectman for Sullivan. He was a member of the Maine Legislature for one term and belonged to the Maine and Hancock County Bar Associations. He was a member of the North Sullivan Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons, Dr. Carl Blaisdell of Bangor, Harvard of Ellsworth and Dr. William Bradley Blaisdell, Jr. of Brewer; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Casper of Wrentham, Mass. and Alvah of Bangor; several nieces and nephews,"

He was a provincial soldier with his father and brothers at Fort Pownal and then settled at Castine; later he was at Sedgwick and North Brooksville. For information and children, see "Penobscot Pioneers" (1993), pp. 8-9, and "The Gray Family of Hancock County, Maine," by Amon A. Gray and Walter A. Snow (1987). Mark E. Honey ("Castine Patriot," 8 July 2004, p. 5) states: "Hannah Gray, born 1765-1773, married Timothy Roax, and removed to New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Andrew Gray and Lydia Brown, and granddaughter of Joshua Gray and Jennat Elliot. The Roax family were Loyalists. The male members of this family has served at Fort Pownall and were no doubt friends of the Grays. Andrew Gray was said to have served as a pilot in one of the vessels of the Penobscot expedition. His daughters Rebecca and Jane were said to have been involved in the release of stolen catle from a Tory barnyard in West Brooksville. These cattle had been confiscated by British soldiers."

When Leo was appointed to the United Brethren (now United Methodist) Church in New Bloomfield, Perry Co., PA, it was bankrupt and he agreed to serve without pay, supporting himself as a jeweler. He retired in 1900 and opened a shop in Lemoyne, but reentered the ministry serving in the Presbytery of Carlisle (Presbyterian Church).

[21724] "The Selisgrove Times-Tribune, 22 January 1959," p. 2: "Mrs. Edith Rose Witmer Harris, wife of the Rev. Arthur C. Harris, of North Eighth street, died January 14 at her home. Ill for a long time, she had been bedfast since October 26, 1958. She would have observed her 71st birthday Tuesday. Born in Salem, Penn Township, January 20, 1888, she was the daughter ol the late George M. Witmer and Sarah Moyer Witmer. Her father was a merchant and post master in Salem. She attended public schools in Penn township and was graduated from Susquehanna University. Married to the Rev. Mr. Harris June 11, 1913 in the Witmer home, she and the Rev. Mr. Harris went to housekeeping in Hartleton, where the Rev. Mr. Harris served as pastor of the Lutheran Parish for two and one half years. The couple then moved to El Paso, Texas, where they resided for four years during Rev. Mr. Harris pastorate of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev. and Mrs. Harris then moved to Gordon, where Rev. Mr. Harris served as pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for 30 years, until Rev. Mr. Harris' retirement. The Rev. and Mrs. Harris then located in Selinsgrove. Mrs. Harris was a pianist and taught piano playing. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove and was associated with the organizations of that church. She was also a member of the Triangle Club and the Women's Auxiliary of Susquehanna University. Surviving are her widower; two sons, Lieutenant Colonel Arthur C. Harris, Jr., of Marion, Alabama; and Ralph W. Harris, of Steubenville, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Donald L. Mowry, of Greenville; two sisters, Miss Katherine M. Witmer and Mrs. Jacob H. Kuster, of Selinsgrove; two brothers, Ralph Witmer and Calvin A. Witme, of Selinsgrove; 10 grandchildren."
