"News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 8 September 1997," p. 8: "Shelby - Gladys Briner, 97, of 3502 London West Road died Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. She was born February 19, 1900, in Ripley Twp., Huron County, to James Lewis and Ella (Huffman) Young. . Mrs. Briner was a homemaker and a member of the Taylortown Community Church. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Catherine Kaylor of Cedar Grove, NJ., and William and Leola Briner of Shelby; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Earl Davis of Orangeville, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Teresa Kaylor of Tiro; sister, Stella Smith of Shelby; 17 grandchildren; 42 greatgrandchildren; 16 great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Kaylor, on October 19, 1927; her second husband, Newton Briner on June 19, 1979; a son, James Kaylor; 3 grandchildren, James, Mary and Jimmy Kaylor; 4 brothers; 2 sisters. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Taylortown Community Church with Revs. Lee Hiney and O. Douglas Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth."
