Joan eventually followed her second husband, John Tuttle, to Carrickfergus, Ireland - he went there in 1650/51 and she in 1654 - he died 30 Dec 1656; she was alive in 1659. John was a mercer at St. Albans; they m. ca. 1626-28; he was b. ca. 1596; they had four children (see "Tuttle Genealogy", by G. F. Tuttle (1883). Joan and John and her Lawrence and Tuttle children came to New England on the "Planter", landing in June, 1635; her mother, Joan, probably lived with the Tuttles at Ipswich, MA. and died there. David L. Beckwith gives a brother for Joan in his Web site (http://www.smokykin.com/ged/f004/f35/a0043571.htm): Robert Antrobus, b. 21 Feb 1591 at St. Albans, Hertfordshire. She married Captain Nehemiah Small in 1803, in Grand Manan, Charlotte, New Brunswick, Canada. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 20 December 1843, in her hometown, at the age of 61, and was buried in Lubec Cemetery, Lubec, Washington, Maine, United States."

She loved sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She was a member of the Floral Grange #158 of North Bucksport. She was past president of the Board of the North Bucksport Foundation. Muriel loved to winter in Florida and spend her summer vacation in PEI. Muriel is survived by her two sons: Donald Arey and wife, Linda, Richard Arey and wife, Judy, grandsons: Edward P Arey and Jeffrey M. Arey; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward K. Arey and second husband, John L. Gray; one grandson, Sean P. Arey; siblings: Basil L. Saunders, Warren J. Saunders, Kenneth L. Saunders and one sister: Joyce A. Weidler."
