He was born in Bucksport July 24, 1896, son of Walter and Martha 'Mina' Gott Colby. He was a 50-year member of the Bucksport Grange, honorary member of the Orland Rising Sun Lodge of Masons and Order of Eastern Star, a member of Bucksport Golf Club. He was a retired 4-H leader and a member of the Duck Cove Community Club. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Wardwell and Mrs. Elsie Good; and one brotherl Clifford Colbyl all of Bucksport; nine grandchildrenl Joyce Andrewsl Ellen Jonesl James, Dana, Timothy, and Frank Wardwell, Terreance, Keith and Julie Good; six great-grandchildren . . . . Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, East Bucksport."

Although having a large circle, of friends, his most intimate associates in Pottsville were Guy Runkle and P. J. McNamara and the members of the family with whom he made his home. Mr. McNamara recently took charge of an Atlantic City hotel, and the sick man sank so rapidly that he could not be notified in order to get here in time, which seemed to cause Mr. Erdman great distress.
