See "Valentin Alt, His Children and His Grandchildren," Nellie Wallace Reeser (Salt Lake City: Family History Library). "The Pennsylvania German Society Proceedings," Vol. 20 (1909), pp. 200, 201, 418 provide information concerning Valentine: "By February 5, 1744, he was living in that part of Philadelphia county, Pennsylvania, now, and since 1784, included in Montgomery county, in the area of Falkner Swamp. The New Hanover Lutheran church there recorded the Baptismal dates and other dates of several of his children." Also see "Pennsylvania German Pioneers," R. B. Strassburger and William John Hinke, Vol. 1, pp. 234, 235, 236; Vol. 2, p. 241, which offers ""Valentin Alt [sic] came to America on the Ship Davy, William Patton, Commander, from Amsterdam, last from Cowes. He took the oath of allegiance at the Courthouse, Philadelphia, October 25, 1738." Cf. Belmont County History, 1988.

[47314] "Reading Times [Reading, Pennsylvania], 26 March 1874," p. 4: "Daniel B. Bucks, a prominent and influential citizen of Lower Heidelberg township, died at his residence in Wernersville on Tuesday morning, aged 51 years. The deceased was proprietor for many years of the Wernersville Hotel, but several years ago retired from active business. He had a beautiful residence in the village, and a portion of his farm, situated at the eastern end of Wernersville, was divided into building lots, in the sale of which and the erection of dwelling houses, he was of late years principally engaged. He was a public spirited citizen, and lent his energies and influence to whatever would be of advautage to his fellow citizens. The deceased was an active Democratic politician, and frequently represented his district in the county conventions of his party. His funeral will take place at ten o'clock on Friday morning. Services and interment at Hain's Church."
