He d., presumably as a prisoner, before 29 July 1295 in France. Sub arcta custodia recludend[us] (Bé, Roles Gascons, vol. iii, nos. 2219, 2222, et passim; Rishanger, Chron., Rolls Ser., p. 149; Knighton, Chron., Rolls Ser., vol. i, pp. 344-45; Hemingburgh, Chron., ed. Hamilton, vol. ii, pp. 51-52). Cal. Fine Rolls, vol. i, pp. 355, 359-60. The King refers, 21 Sep., to "the laudable service rendered to him in Gascony by Ralph ... [who] died in his service there" (Cal. Close Rolls, 1288-86, p. 432). Ralph's executors stated soon afterwards that he had died in Gascony on the Friday in Pentecost week [27 May] and that the news of his death reached England at the quinzaine of St John [8 July] [abstract of an ancient petition (SC 8/75/3747) in the National Archives online catalogue (http://www.catalogue.nationalarchives.gov.uk/default.asp)].

[47178] "The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, PA], 16 August 1893," p. 3: "James G. Meminger, who resided on his farm in Liberty Valley, Sandy Hill district, committed suicide last Saturday by cutting his throat with a razor. The particulars of the sad event are about as follows: Mrs. Meminger, son and daughter, left home on Saturday morning to attend the picnic at Sherman's Park, near Blain. Mr. Meminger was in good spirits when they left and told them to endeavor to secure men to help thresh on Monday. When they returned in the evening, Mr. Meminger was not in the house, and, thinking he had gone to a neighbor's, the son was sent after him. Not finding him there, search was instituted about the premisis, and his dead body, stiff and cold was found in a sitting posture on the floor of the outhouse. His throut was cut from ear to ear and the bloody razor, with which the deed was committed, lay beside him on the floor. He had probably been dead several hours. No motive can be ascribed for the terrible act, except that for years he had suffered with dyspepsia aud liver complaint, and was some times very melancholy. His domestic relations were of the happiest character, and none of his family ever heard hin intimate any thing to lead them to suspect he contemplated taking his life. He was a member of the Reformed Church and a highly respected, intelligent man. A wife and six children survive him, namely: Rev. J. W. Meminger, of Lancaster; Mrs. Joseph Kell, of Tyrone township; Mrs. Thomas Drolsbaugh, of Oliioj Mrs. Mohler, Miss Emma and Orrie Meminger."

Michael was born May 3, 1961 in Bar Harbor, Maine. Michael was the youngest child of Preston and Doreen Strout. Michael is survived by his mother Doreen, brother Raymond in Milbridge, sisters Gail and her husband Vernon Scott, Sandi and her husband Robert Look both of Columbia Falls. Michael graduated from Narraguagus High School and has worked as a lobster fisherman for the past 34 years. His nicknames were 'Strouty' and 'Big Bird' and he will always be known for his large curly hair, his wild spirit, and his warm heart. Michael was a loving and proud father and is survived by his two sons, John Michael Nadeau and wife Carolyn, and Zane Marshall Strout. Michael was predeceased by his father Pep. There wil be a graveside service in his memory on October 18th @ 2:00 p.m. at the Rock Maple Cemetary in Harrington at the family site next to his father."

Shamokin News-Dispatch, 30 March 1931, pp. 1-2: William Tasker, Sr., former resident and father of Pearce H. Tasker, Pennsylvania railroad clerk, died at his home at Pottsgrove Saturday aftemoon at 3:40. Death was due to complication of diseases, incident to old age. He was 81 years old. The deceased was a lifelong resident of this city up until shortly fol lowing his marriage to Mrs. Emma Rowe in 1915. Three years later he removed with his bride to engage in farming near Pottsgrove. For the past few years Mr. and Mrs. Tasker lived in retirement at Pottsgrove. Mr. Tasker came to Shamokin from his birthplace at Pembrokshire. South Wales, England, in 1880. He was born at the latter place February 5 1850. For many years the deceased followed mining as an occupation. He identified himself in membership with the Primitive Methodist church and was one of that congregation's oldest members. Fraternally he was a member of Mt. Tabor Lodge, No. 125, 1. O. O. F, and Encampment No. 60, I. O. O. F. The first wife of the deceased died twenty-seven years ago. Surviving from that union are three sons, John William, Jr., and Pearce H. Tasker, all of this city. One sister, Mrs. Thomas Parcel, of South Wales, also survives.
