Catherine Railey Miller was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on January 1, 1922 to Wesley Daniel Railey and Mary Helen Church. She was married to Ross Hays Miller in May 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma. She attended East Central State University in Ada to learn business skills. She and her husband worked and lived in Oklahoma City and Cleveland, Ohio during his education and training for his eventual career as a neurosurgeon at mayo Clinic. They moved to Rochester in 1950. After raising a family and pursuing other interests she and Ross retired to Hilton Head Island, S.C., in 1983. They returned to live in Rochester in 1999. Catherine was involved in several volunteer groups, ventured into a few small retail endeavors, and was a skilled crafts-person, especially with needlework. She was an extraordinary mother and wife, always generous and encouraging to those in her care. Survivors include one son, one daughter, 2 grand children and 2 great grandchildren."
