Mr. Course was born In Perry eounty, Missouri, October 4, 1868! He was married in 1894 to Mary E. Bruner, to which union were born four children, three of whom are living, Mrs. S. L. Dean, Mrs. Lloyd McNabb and Walter, all of Lyle. He moved with his family to Goldendale, in 1901, taking up a homestead, and lived in this vicinity until 1910. He moved to Lyle, where he was since engaged In the mercantile business. Mr. Course was a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge, and a believer in the principles of the Baptist church."
