He was born September 11, 1866 at Surry, the son of Henry and Sophronia (Kittfield) Blaisdell. He was a former member of the Senator Hale Hose Company at Ellsworth. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura Blaisdell; one son, William Blaisdell of Blue Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Maude Astbury of Penobscot, Mrs. Florence Thomas of Bar Harbor and Mrs Ida Jean Hulse of Mastic, N. Y.; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren."

He fought in the King Richard's Third Crusade in 1190. He fought in the siege of Jaffa in 1192. He held the office of Keeper of Marlborough Castle in 1194. He held the office of Sheriff of Essex from 1198 to 1199. He held the office of Chief of the Itinerant Justices of the Forest before 1199. He held the office of Sheriff of Hertfordshire from 1202 to 1203. He held the office of Sheriff of Essex from 1202 to 1203. He held the office of Forester in 1203, for life (possibly Chief Forester of all England). He held the office of Treasurer before 27 January 1208/9. He held the office of Keeper of the seaports between Cornwall and Hampshire in 1213. In June 1215 in Runymede, he was a member of King John's entourage at the signing of the Magna Carta. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. Mrs Zimmerman was a well-known church organist, having been organist at the Methodlst Church In Everett 14 years and at the Everett Congregational Church. She was 48 years old, and had lived In Melrose more than two years. She was a member of the American Guild of Organists In Boston and of the Truette Club. - She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Alma, and one sister, a teacher in New Bedford."
