It is possible to date their departure to 1096 since Guy the Red, also the seneschal, disappeared from these events around 1095, and did not reappear until 1104. We know the results of the voyage from the accounts of the Abbey Suger. Guy Troussel abandoned the holy business and, unbeknownst to his father, he escaped from Antioch, which was besieged by the Corboran army. He then returned to France. With the crusade now finished Milon the Big was reunited with his dishonored son. He then set off once more for holy ground where he was killed at the battle of Ramlah in 1103." Samuel Rice" by John Rice is printed in "The Airy View, Vol. 39, No. 1" (Newport, PA: The Perry Historians, January, 2014), p. 8 states George died in Cumberland Co., PA. Bette Fouse Hamilton shared via email: "George Rice, born in Chester County, PA, in 1770, removed to Perry County, settling in Madison township, where he purchased a farm, near Bixler dam, on which he remained for some years. He then removed to Juniata County, settling in what is now Spruce Hill township, where he purchased a tract of land of 108 acres, on which he erected buildings. He was married to Miss Catharine Ginrich, of Chester County. Their children were; Mary, was married to a Mr. W ilson; John, deceased; William, deceased; George Deceased; Catharine (Mrs. Henry Kepner); Sarah (Mrs. Sam uel Rice), deceased; Benjamin; Jesse; and Zachariah, of Illinois. George Rice, in politics, was a Democrat. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. His death occurred January 3, 1841; his wife also died in Spruce Hill township."
