Shoemaker died on the 19th of Feb., 1907, at his home in this place, aged 82 years, 1 mouth and 7 days. He was a powerful man, physically, a leading farmer in his time and by diligent industry he and his family accumulated a large estate, consisting of farms, timber land and the home. By his first wife, who was Martha M. Gebhart, he leaves the following children ; Charles, Mendon, Ammon, Mrs Harry Rover, Mrs. Henry Baker, Mrs. Willis Crouse and Mrs, James Sanders. His second wife, who was a Mrs. Paul, also survives him and at this time is quite ill." Levi is son of Benjamin Shoemaker and Susannah Ludwig.
