He was born in Eastbrook June 15, 1936, the son of Clyde Woodrow and Maye G. (Colby) Bunker. Scott graduated from Ellsworth High School Class of 1954. He served as chief master sergeant in the Air National Guard for 35 years and retired in 1992. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and mentor. He also enjoyed playing guitar with his family and friends. Abrahms Pond, Bog River and Bull Hill Camp are where you would most likely find him on the trail of a deer or with a rod in his hand. Scott was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50-plus years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charleen Brown Bunker; children, Scott (Skip) Bunker and wife, Elizabeth, of Sacramento, Calif., Kris Bunker Littlefield and partner Lori Bresnahan of Hermon and Timothy Bunker and wife, Elizabeth, of Bucksport; grandchildren, Jason and Matthew Littlefield, Taylor and Michaela Bunker, Dylan and Danny Bunker; four great-grandchildren; brother, Frederick Bunker (Fred) and wife, Noni, of Virginia; sisters, Judy Veillette and Nancy Hardison and husband, Larry, all of Eastbrook. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother-in-law, Norman Veillette."

"The Perry County Times, 27 March 1941," p. 12: "Newport, Mar. 25 - Francis Marion Shade, of Middle Ridge, died suddenly Thursday morning, March 20, 1941, of a heart attack at his home. He was 76 years old and was the son of Joseph and Marion Postlethwaite Shade and was born in Mifflin county. Surviving are his wife who was Miss Hettie B. Arnold; two sons, Harold, of Middle Ridge, and Clyde Shade, of Trout Creek, Mont. ; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Shade was a member of the Markelsville Reformed Church. Funeral services were held this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the Myers funeral home in Newport, with the Rev. Roy Moorhead, pastor at Markelsville, officiating. Burial was made in the Newport cemetery."
