In 1229 and 1230 he had letters of protection on going with the King on foreign service, and on 14 Apr 1253 he and his heirs had a grant of free warren in all their demesne lands in co.s Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincoln, and Cambridge. He died in or before 10 Jul 1257. Joan de Hobrugge, his second wife, died on or before 7 Sep 1297."
