[42131] Harriet's obituary (from Find A Grave): "Mrs. George W. Sanderson of 518 Mifflin Street, passed away suddenly early Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Poffenberger, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where she had been making a protracted visit. The immediate cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage, although she had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Sanderson was born in Huntingdon on April 5, 1855, the daughter of G. Ashman and Hannah Garretson Miller, and was a descendant of the pioneer families of the Juniata valley. Her earliest American ancestors were Scotch-Irish and English Quaker colonists who were actively engaged in developing educational progress in Maryland as well as being extensive landholders and planters. She received her education in the public schools, the Old Academy, and Juniata College, then a Normal School. She later taught school at various places in the county and in Bedford, during which period she had as pupils many prominent men of this community, who hold her in affectionate regard and remembrance. In 1884 she was united in marriage to G. W. Sanderson, a well known merchant here for many years, who preceded her in death by seven years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cloyd Shuss, of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. J. C. Poffenberger, of Cleveland. Five grandchildren also survive: Mrs. George Blankford and Elinor Shuss, of Baltimore; Margaret, Jean and Cameron Poffenberger, of Cleveland. She was a faithful member of the St. James Lutheran church, and of the Standing Stone Chapter of the D.A.R. During her entire life she took an active and keen interest in public affairs, particularly those of educational import, and she will be sorely missed by a host of neighbors, relatives and friends."

[24949] http://www.thepeerage.com/p11418.htm states "He succeeded to the title of Duke of Cracow in 1306. He was created King Wladislaw I of Poland in 1320." In 2007 http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/POLAND.htm offers: "Wladislaw of Poland, son of Kazimierz I Prince of Kujavia, Leczyca and Sieradz [Piast] & his third wife Euphrosyne von Schlesien-Oppeln ([3 Mar 1260/19 Jan 1261]-Wawel Castle 2 Mar 1333, bur Krakow Cathedral). The 'Annales Polonorum' name (in order) 'Lestkonem Nigrum [et] Wladislaum qui Loketk cognominatus est' among the sons of 'Cazimirus'. He succeeded his father in 1267 as Wladislaw Prince of southern Kujavia, Brzesc and Dobrzyn. On the death without heirs in 1288 of his half-brother Leszek, Wladyslaw inherited Sieradz. He challenged the inheritance of Krakow by his distant cousin Heinrich IV 'Probus' Duke of Breslau and occupied the town, although he was expelled within a few months. He was captured in [1291] by Václav II [Wenzel] King of Bohemia and forced him to renounce any claims to the duchy of Krakow. He was recognised by the nobles of Greater Poland as the successor of Przemysl II King of Poland in 1296. He was forced into exile in early 1300 after King Václav occupied Greater Poland, Pomorze and Kujavia and was crowned King of Poland in Sep 1300. Prince Wladyslaw, supported by Hungarian troops, returned to Poland in Sep 1304 and captured Krakow in 1306. By this time, he had reasserted control over all of Poland except Greater Poland and Silesia, and on one occasion styled himself 'heir to the kingdom of Poland'. After the rebellion of Gdansk in 1308, and the Askanian invasion of Pomorze, Prince Wladyslaw enlisted the help of the Teutonic Knights who, after lifting the siege, occupied the town and by end 1311 had captured eastern Pomorze for themselves. In 1311, Krakow rebelled with the aim of restoring Bohemian rule, but by summer 1312 the rebellion was crushed. By 1314, Wladyslaw succeeded in expelling the sons of Heinrich I Duke of Glogau from Greater Poland, and by 1315 he styled himself 'Duke of all Greater Poland'. He applied to the Pope in 1316 for a royal crown, and after several years of negotiation he was crowned in Wawel Cathedral at Kraków 20 Jan 1320 as Wladislaw I 'Lokietek/the Short' King of Poland. In the continuing dispute with the Teutonic Order, the Pope found in favour of Poland over Pomorze in Mar 1320 but the Knights ignored the ruling. Jan King of Bohemia invaded Silesia in early 1327 and imposed Bohemian suzerainty on most of the Silesian dukes between 1327 and 1329. Polish forces defeated the Teutonic Knights at P?owce 27 Sep 1331, but lost Brze?? and Inowroc?aw in 1332. The 'Ephemerides Wladislavienses' record the death '1333 IV Non Mar' of 'Wladislaus rex Polonie in castro Cracoviensi', the 'Annales Terra Prussicæ' adding that he was also buried at Krakow'. - m ([Jan 1293]) Jadwiga of Poland, daughter of Boleslaw 'Pobo?ny/the Pious' Prince of Kalisch, Gnesen and Greater Poland & his wife Iolanda [Helena] of Hungary ([1266]-Monastery of St Klara, Stary S?cz 10 Dec 1339). The 'Annales Polonorum' name 'ducis Boleslai Kalisiensis filiam nomine Hedwigim' as wife of King W/ladys?aw. Her marriage was arranged by her future husband to strengthen his relations with Przemysl II Prince of Greater Poland, who was her first cousin, in the face of the growing threat to Poland from Václav II [Wenzel] King of Bohemia."
