[1875] Childeric I was established around Tournai with his tribe and fought against the Visigoths with the Roman General Odoacer and with him intercepted a band of Alamanni. He ruled the Salic Franks 458-481; his kingdom included Siene, Marne, Meuse, Moselle, Treves, Angers and Orleans. In 1653 his tomb was discovered at Tournai. He broke with Rome and was succeeded by his son Clovis. Childeric's tribe had come to the fertile valleys of the Somme and the Oise rivers to find new lands to farm. His greatest love was family and being involved in his grandchildren's activities. Neil attended Crossroads Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy, Mount Carmel, Ill.; father, Walter Parker Schurman; and stepfather, Frank E. Hallen, California. Neil is survived by his mother, Hilda G.
