Annie's obituary from the Bangor Daily News: "Stockton Springs - Annie M. (Hamm) Matthews Wardwell, 71, died after a courageous battle with a terminal illness, June 25, 2000. She was born in Monroe, April 13, 1929, the daughter of Cyrus and Daisy (Arbuckle) Hamm. Annie was a homemaker and a CNA. She loved giving and caring for others. She enjoyed cruises and playing cards. Annie will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched with her ready smile and happy personality. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alvah F. Matthews of Deer Isle and second husband, Richard B. Wardwell of Orland; two sisters, and two brothers, Cecile, Muriel, Carl and Rudolph. She is survived by a son, Daniel Matthews of Belfast; a daughter, 'Trudy' Wilcox of Stockton Springs; her sisters and brothers, Kathleen, Christine, Ethel, Jean, Dorothy, Carlene, Raymond, William and Walter; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews."
