Bowden, 91, husband of the late Marsha (Cates) Bowden, died Jan. 5, 1980 at a local nursing home following a long illness. He was born in Orland March 21, 1888, the son of John and Carrie (Hutchins) Bowden. He lived in the Cutler area most of his life and was a fisherman. He is survived by one son, Carlton L. of Bethany, Conn; one daughter, Arlene Dennison of Cutler; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, at the Gardner Funeral Home, Machias, with the Rev. Steven Zarecki officiating. Burial will follow in New Cutler Cemetery, Cutler."

[22370] Novgorod is an old city in the Novgorodskaya Oblast (administrative district), Russia. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/RUSSIA,%20Rurik.htm offers: "Vladimir Iaroslavich (1020-Novgorod 1052, bur Novgorod Church of St Sophia). The Primary Chronicle records the birth of Vladimir son of Yaroslav in 1020. Snorre names 'Valdemar, Vissivald and Holte the Bold' as the children of 'King Jarisleif' & his wife. His father installed him in 1043 as Prince of Novgorod. He subjugated the Finnic tribe of Yam to secure Novgorod's control over the Gulf of Finland'. Vladimir led an attack on Constantinople in [1045], apparently in revenge for the death of some Scythian noble in a brawl, but was defeated and forced to retreat. The Primary Chronicle records the death of Vladimir 'Yaroslav's eldest son' at Novgorod in 1052 and his place of burial. As he predeceased his father, his descendants were ignored in the latter's testament and were subsequently considered ineligible to succeed as Grand Princes of Kiev."

[45929] Find A Grave memorial 129747274 lists his wife and children and offers: "Adam is named as the son of Andrew Ritzman, Sr. and the father of Andrew Ritzman, Jr., whose biography appeared in the following publication: The Commemorative Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin county, PA, by Runk & Co., 1896, page 1084. In this biography sketch all of Adam's children are named and some of their spouses. According to a published book on the Tombstone Inscriptions of Wirth's Cem., dated 1968, by Johnathan Wert, Adam is buried there, alongside his wife Mary. However, he is also listed as being interred in Zion Lutheran and Reformed Church, located in Rife, PA, also alongside his wife Mary. Both cemetery inscribed tombstone listings have Adam's birth correct: (9-15-1802). However, in Wirth's listing Adam's burial date is 9-11-1873, while at Zion it's 9-11-1885, a 12 year's difference."
