[22393] "Also known as SVATÝ VÁCLAV and Saint Wenceslas, he was raised a Christian by his grandmother St. Ludmila, but his ambitious mother, Drahomíra (Dragomir), a pagan, had her murdered and acted as regent herself, until Wenceslas came of age in 924 or 925. Her court intrigues and the wishes of the people to end the conflicts between Christian and non-Christian factions in Bohemia led Wenceslas to take the reins of government. As duke he was pious, reportedly taking the vow of virginity, and encouraged the work of German missionary priests in the Christianization of Bohemia. His zeal in spreading Christianity, however, antagonized his non-Christian opponents. Faced with German invasions in 929, Wenceslas submitted to the German king Henry I the Fowler. His submission provoked some of the nobles to conspire against him, and they prompted his younger brother, Boleslav (Boleslaus), to murder him. Waylaid by Boleslav en route to mass, Wenceslas was killed at the church door. Frightened by the reports of miracles occurring at Wenceslas' tomb, Boleslav had his remains transferred in 932 to the Church of St. Vitus, Prague, which became a great pilgrimage site during the medieval period. Wenceslas was regarded as Bohemia's patron saint almost immediately after his assassination. Falck, 72, of Main Street, Herndon, who died Sunday, 11 p.m. at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, will be held Thursday afternoon from the Lawrence E. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD Klingerstown. Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. The Rev. Paul Billow of Rebuck and the Rev. Glenn Keidel Jr. of RD Dornsife, will officiate. He had been hospitalized one week. Mr. Falck was born at Leck Kill Feb. 23, 1907. His parents were the late Edward and Agnes Brown Falck. He was a retired carpenter and a dealer of aluminum products. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Herndon and the Herndon Fire Company. He served on Herndon Borough Council at one time. He was married to the former Olive Snyder at Leck Kill March 12, 1927. [43086] Henry's grave marker records "Co. G. 74th Ind. Inf.". "Elkhart Truth",23 May 1919 offers: "HENRY SHTERLY, WELL KNOWN LAKE MAN, FOUND DEAD IN BED, AGED 80. Henry Sherterly, a civil war veteran aged 80 years, who lived with a daughter two miles northwest of Edwardsburg, was found dead in bed from heart disease Wednesday morning. Mr. Shetterly for many years lived on the east bank of Juno Lake, near Adamsville, and had a boat livery there. He was well known to the majority of Elkhart fishermen. After his wife died a few years ago he spent much time in this city, most of it at the Central fire startion. Mr. Shetterly is survived by four sons, William, George, Amos and Lewis Shetterly, and two married daughters."

Find A Grave memorial 62248043 offers: "Born to Arthur Trumble and Rosa Jane Hood Tovrea in Sparta, Randolph Co., IL. He was a toddler when he moved with his parents to Sedgwick County, KS about 1875. He spent his childhood and youth there. About 1890 he moved to AZ with his older brother Edward Ambrose Tovrea and became involved in the meat industry and was branch manager for the E A Tovrea Company, Wholesale Butchers and Packers. He made many business trips to the Republic of Mexico to purchase cattle and trips to Guaymas to purchase fish for the Tovrea markets. He was a member of the Nogales Chamber of Commerce for many years and made trade excursions with them along the west coast of Mexico to encourage trade between the US and Mexico. In his later years he managed and operated the Tovrea Meat Market in Nogales, AZ. He died of chronic Bright's Disease. [Bio provided by Gladys Tovrea Brandstoettner.

NOGALES, Ariz., Jan. 18 - (AP) J. C. Tovrea, 70-year old brother of the late E. A. Tovrea, founder of Tovrea Packing Company, died at his Nogales residence today from an illness contracted last July. Settling in Arizona 52 years ago, Tovrea resided successively at Congress Junction, Phoenix and Prescott before coming to Nogales 27 years ago. He was a former member of the Nogales city council and school board. He was a charter member of the Nogales Elks club, former president of the local Rotary club and a member of Knights of Pythias. Tentative funeral arrangements have been made for his body to lie in state at the Arizona Mortuary here Wednesday and Thursday with services Friday and burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lotta R.; three sons, Harold C., Tucson; Corp. Maurice, Tucson, now stationed in Panama, and Lt.
