He was the son of Thomas Lothropp and Maude (--?--). Reverend John Lothropp graduated from Queen's College, Cambridge, England, with a B.A. in 1605 and with an M.A. in 1609. He married Hannah House, daughter of Reverend John House, on 10 October 1610 at Eastwell, Kent, England. Reverend John Lothropp was imprisoned for his religious beliefs from 22 April 1632 to 1634 at Clink prison, London, England. John arrived aboard the Griffen on 18 September 1634 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He married Anna (--?--) on 14 June 1635 at Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts. Reverend John Lothropp died on 8 November 1653 at Barnstable at age 68. He was buried on 10 November 1653 at Barnstable." - and provides further ancestry.

He was born June 8, 1895, in Knox township, Holmes county, a son of L. H. Watts, Killbuck Route 1, and the late Mary Ellen Workman Watts, and was married Jan 12, 1918 to Bessie Church, who survives. Mr. Watts was a charter member of the Holmes County Farm Bureau. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are one son, Robert Watts, Killbuck Rt. 1; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Dunn, Dayton, and Mrs. Helen Garvin, Shelby; one brother, Ralph Watts, Rittman; five grandchildren. One sister and one brother are deceased." Charles and Bessie had Robert Lewis Watts (1919 - 1996), Albert P Watts (1920 - 1950) and Mary A Watts Dunn (1922 - 2011).
