[28699] Jacob Ault, second son of Valentin Alt, received from his father the latter's farm in York township, York Co., PA, along with the responsibility of taking care of Valentin's widow so long as she lived and of the younger children until each became of age. He was a weaver to whom his young half-brother Conrad was apprenticed 27 May 1760. Tax Records of York County list Jacob for years 1771, 1774, and 1778. He is listed in Shrewsbury Township for 1779 and in Hopewell Township for 1779, 1780, 1781, 1782, and 1783. Military Service - was in Captain John Miller's Company (Third Company), York County, PA.

Girvin was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Paradise. Born in Salisbury Township, he was a son of the late Jesse and Annie Graham Girvin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandra L., wife of Thomas W. McCormick, East Petersburg, and Barbara J., wife of Gary W. Hopkins, Newark, Del.; one son, Larry M. Girvin, Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren; and four sisters: Mabel Hutchinson, Paradise; Esther Bowers, Ronks; Martha Eppihimer, Bryn Mawr; and Violet Parmer, Paradise."
