He was born in Milbridge, Aug. 26, 1912, the son of Walter and Alfreda (Crocker) Strout. He attended Milbridge schools and was a 52-year member of Pleiades Lodge No. 173 AF & AM. He was a lobster fisherman all his life off Pigeon Hill in the waters around Petit Manan. In addition to his wife of nearly 65 years, Annie (Kelley) Strout, he is survived by one son, Walter Strout and his wife, Joyce, and his three boys, Joseph, Brian and Daniel, all of Milbridge; one daughter, Rebecca, and her husband, Dennis Young, their three children, Charles, Amy, and Catherine, all of Augusta; three great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Mason and Nicholas; one brother, Lawrence and his wife Sylvia of Milbridge; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Everett Eugene, in 1944."
